Celebrating Construction Excellence in the South West
It was a Friday night packed full of festivities at this year’s South West Built Environment Awards. For the tenth year running more than 500 delegates gathered together at the Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol on 09 June 2017, to celebrate and acknowledge the best of the region’s innovative construction projects and talented individuals.
The awards were hosted by Martin Roberts property expert and presenter of the popular BBC One show, Homes Under the Hammer.
Built Environment Awards
Big winners of the night were BAM Construction collecting a total of four awards with Daniel Baggott picking up this year’s Young Achiever of the Year Award for BAM Construction Western. The company also scooped the highly acclaimed Digital Construction Project/Initiative of the Year, Image of Construction & Winner of Winners Awards all for the University of the West of England Enterprise Zone.
Both Kier Construction Western & Wales and Churngold Construction Ltd picked up two awards on the night. Kier Construction collected the Integration & Collaborative Working Award & Value Award for their RUH Bath Pharmacy project, as Churngold Construction Ltd scooped up the SME of the Year & Health & Safety Award.
The Innovation Award went to Arup for the Arco Bridge project, a new modular glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) footbridge designed with a view to accessing the UK rail market.
The prestigious Client of the Year was awarded to The University of the West of England. Proudly taking home the Achiever of the Year Award was Liz Bennett of Safety in Design.
